Elaborating on D20 while working with Mary J Blige for the Superbowl, her halftime costumes influenced the designs for the new ready-to-wear collection. Glamour and sexiness feels fresh and modern when combined with performance and comfort. Performance and comfort is most often more associated with modern menswear’s new fashion icons - male athletes - and has inspired a focused range of tactile fabrics that move with the body and feel cool, current and also luxurious. Fitted suits in satin jacquard with the brand’s Panther logo or crushed charmeuse for lingerie inspired shifts and separates are all interwoven with stretch. The low waisted trouser with flared legs adds a nod to early 2000 pop stars in satin or in chocolate leather, also with stretch. The crushed and washed charmeuse is also proposed in long 30’s style dresses with handkerchief hems that are versatile both for day and night; in heels or in flats. Crushed velvet jersey is used in body hugging mini dresses and jumpsuits with slash cut-outs. The sultry palette is concise and focused with rich violet, chocolate brown, blush and bright lime green with black, off-white and gold accents. The ultra-feminine styles of the collection are counterbalanced with cozy oversized mohair robe-like coats or a great coat in cow print ponyskin. Knitwear is another key story proposed in fitted micro and maxi shapes. Signature twin sets in tiger stripes of brown, gold lurex and black viscose with revealing cut-out shapes are all held together with lace-up detailing. Pure evening T-shirt dresses with embellishment of star motifs and horizontal fringe adds signature shine and sparkle to the collection as does slouchy pyjamas re-embroidered with banker stripes of gold and crystal beadwork.
