D16 Lookbook

D16 is a return to the exuberance, the excitement, and the fun that fashion should be. Walking the tight rope between expressing a dream and responding to a woman’s current wardrobe needs, the collection turns up the volume on embellishment, shine, and sex appeal without losing sight of the expectation of ease and versatility. The 1930’s, and a desire for tailoring, play between masculine and feminine as the starting point of the collection. Shot with contemporary ‘film noir’ backdrops, a 90’s grungy undertone injects a decadent nonchalance to the look. Fluid elongated dresses are worn over roll neck sweaters and paired with boxy jackets and greatcoats. Tailoring feels fresh and relevant after these long months focusing on deconstructed garments. Jackets are proposed in sensual silk velvet or hammered satin and paired with wide legged flat front trousers or crafted in heavyweight jacquard melton for boxy Macs and sur-vestes as her masculine counterpart.

The palette is rich but muted, with smoky Bordeaux and Prussian blues, soothing sage, gun metals and faux blacks accented by vibrant pinks and yellows. The collection patterns are abstract brush strokes and pigment stains with the only exception of an Iris floral Art Nouveau inspired pattern. The current appreciation for ease is not abandoned and the tailoring as well as kimono sets, also in rich velvet are the protagonists for evening, richly embellished with the black diamond renderings of the collection patterns. Fringes are fun both on crystal micro slip dip dyed and dégradé shifts or maxi twin set ensembles for night. Sets are overall an important element of the collection from fluid midi length shirt dresses with assorted trousers, to embellished and feather trimmed top and skirt sets. Knit cashmere jacquard sweaters, trousers, dresses and even coats, suitable indoors and out, all interchangeable, feel complete when worn in pairs. Studded platform sandals in suede and rich metallics and assorted flat caps accessorise the collection as well as the new DUNDAS hosiery, an exciting addition to the expanding offer.

The collection enjoys the freedom which fashion should allow itself without losing track of the DUNDAS girl’s newfound love of comfort and versatility whether wanting to look polished or casual, she is simply making her everyday a liberating celebration.

D16 will be arriving online and in stores in August.
